NAGARKOT SAANKHU DAY RIDE

TOTAL DISTANCE: Approx. 65KM.

We ride South-West out of the Kathmandu city around 8:30am, following the six lane road to Bhaktapur. We will turn left at Balkumari and ride through the sleepy Newari town to Thimi. Riding thru Thimi, an ancient farmer's town you will be instantly taken back 200 years. Continue to Bhaktapur, Kathmandu Valley's ancient town with temple complexes and palace courtyards. Take a quick walk thru the Durbar Square before we start our ascend to Nagarkot. You will love the ride on this part! Nagarkot is a famous hill station with amazing sunrise and sunset views along with 160 degree panorama of mountains. We ride to Nagarkot Farm House located secluded on a small hilltop, far enough from the crowded hotels and resorts and enjoy lunch in their beautiful green garden filled with fruit trees. Amazing mountain views on a clear day. When we are ready to leave, we take the backroads that takes us to Saankhu, an ancient town North-West of the city and re-enter Kathmandu city via Boudhanath. Pay a quick visit to the Boudhanath Stupa - considered to be the biggest Buddhist monument in South Asia.
